Nature is for everyone

With the opening of the accessible NatureGate TerSpegelt, we’re taking an important step towards making the Brabantse Kempen accessible to everyone. Whether you have reduced mobility, use a wheelchair or simply need a little extra support, we make it possible for you to truly experience nature again – independently, together and in your own way.

This project has been developed in collaboration with the Province of North Brabant and the Brabant Nature Gates Foundation, highlighting how valuable it is when everyone has the opportunity to get outdoors.

How can you book the trikes?

The Mountain E-Trike and MountainTrike E-Push can be reserved free of charge at the bike rental centre on our park. The all-terrain electric trikes are ready for use here, and our team will be happy to help you get started with personal advice, instructions and practical tips. That way, everyone can enjoy the beautiful outdoors of the Brabantse Kempen safely and with confidence.

Accessible routes through the Brabant Kempen

A number of accessible nature trails have been specially developed for electric all-terrain wheelchairs around the accessible NatureGate TerSpegelt. The routes have been carefully designed and are easy to navigate, allowing users to enjoy the natural surroundings of the Brabantse Kempen independently and in comfort.

One of the routes is the easy-access ‘Accessible Stroll’ near the GnomePath, perfect for getting familiar with the trikes and the surroundings at a relaxed pace. Guests can also choose the 3-kilometre blue route, the ‘Bosbessen en Heidewandeling’, which takes you along woodland paths and beautiful heathland. In autumn, the 5-kilometre yellow route, the ‘Spijkerste Heidewandeling’, will also be added. If certain parts of the blue route feel a little challenging, you can always follow the adjacent cycle path instead.

Would you prefer not to head straight into the woods just yet? You’re also very welcome to explore TerSpegelt itself first. The park offers a pleasant and familiar setting with flat paths, ideal for getting used to the trikes at your own pace, followed by a relaxing drink on the terrace at beach pavilion De Wijde Blick or De Keizer eating & drinking.

Whether you’re looking for a wheelchair-friendly nature route, an accessible way to experience nature or a suitable outdoor activity in North Brabant, the accessible Nature Gate TerSpegelt makes it possible for more people to explore the outdoors independently.
